Party Member

Today, I got to go with Marti, Toni, Marti's mom and sister, and J's mom to see Marti try on wedding dresses.  I feel like trying on wedding dresses have definitely changed since I tried them on almost 9 years ago (wow that makes me feel old).  Things are much fancier now and you get mimosas!  She is going for a country theme and looking for a dress to fit that theme.  I'm not going to post any pictures or details about the dress.  Don't want to get in trouble in case J finds my blog or some one tells him something!  Needless to say Marti looked beautiful!  I have a favorite from what I've seen on her and from pictures but she will look amazing in whatever she choices.

At the appointment Marti gave Toni and I adorable bags with pictures, a country shot glass, and confetti and asked us to be members of the house party.  After we found out what that entails we were thrilled to say yes!  I am honored to be asked to be involved and will gladly help in anyway I can.

Stuffy Nose

David woke up Monday with his first stuffy nose :(  It's been a rough two days.  He's been wanting to nurse a lot and be held but not cuddled.  He's been waking up early too which does not make me happy.  Thankfully he took about almost 2 hr naps each day which has been a nice break.  David is lucky he's cute which makes up for a lot of fussiness.
    

Weekend Recap

Friday my parents left in the morning then David and I stared at each other until Lucas got home at 7.  Okay we did entertain ourselves and Toni came over with Zoey and Tatum to show us her new car.  David was fascinated by the girls.  We were all excited to have Lucas come home.  Peanut even kissed him!  It took David a second to recognize him but he was very excited when he did and showed it by blowing spit bubbles.  Lucas bought David a mouse onesie and a troll figurine and I got chocolate! 

Saturday we had our pictures taken for the church directory and I helped out for another 2 hours while the boys did some bonding.  The Dawsons came over for dinner and the premiere of the new season of Dr Who.

Sunday was church and a women's meeting for Jean.  We had the Fuhrmanns over for swimming and dinner.  It was nice to catch up but we were exhausted.  Their oldest daughter, Chloe, loved David and carried/entertained him for most of the time.

Noisy Toys are Fun

David got a new toy and clothes from our neighbor.  It's a big piano that makes lots of noise and has lots of toys to drool on.  He really likes it so far.  I think he really likes that he can stomp/kick and noise happens.

Pool Fun

After a day of cleaning and laundry, we decided to go to the pool.  David was pretty relaxed in the pool this time, although Poppa and Nana did their best to get him all riled up.  He may have gotten accidentally face planted twice and splashed in the face once.  Nana put him up on the side and let him "jump" into her arms, Poppa swam him around, and they both swung him into the air.  Overall, I think he had a good time.

Na na na na Batbaby!

I wish I had done a Batman theme for David.  For some reason my mom and I buy him Batman clothes and he rocks them.  In addition to the sleeper and onesie, he also has another onesie with a cape.  And I'm thinking of making him Batman for Halloween.  Although, Lucas as Batman and David as Robin would be pretty cute.

Poop Puddle

David slept til 8 today which is always a bonus.  Did some errands and Mom got a haircut.  Went to Dollar General and got some clothes for Walker, a sleep for David, and toliet brushes (who doesn't need those).  Dad took David for a bit when we got back, it was nice to have a break.  Dad put the johnny jump-up up, it is too short for our doors but it makes a good swing.  After dinner, we went to the south side of the neighborhood for a walk.  Halfway through we look down and discovered David had made a poop puddle!  It was really gross.  We cut the walk short, took him home, and bathed him and the carseat.  Ended the night by watching a Cirque du Soleil special.

Goodbye for a Week

Lucas left today for Norway.  I hate it when it goes on work trips and especially now with David being here.  But alas, we need the money.

Today Mom and I went in 7 houses!  It was hot but I'm glad we got to look into them all.  We cooled off in the blow up pool in the backyard.  Mom got David laughing pretty hard.  David got a bath, his first without Lucas.  He also got to watch some college football reruns with Poppa.

Two Month Difference

What a difference two months made!  

Yay for Grandparents

Lucas goes to Norway tomorrow for a week for a work trip.  Thankfully my parents are nice enough to make the drive to keep me and David company for a week.

We all woke up early this morning and went to a local park for walk before it got too ridiculously hot.  Afterwards we went grocery shopping and had lunch.  After some resting, we went to look at some houses in the neighborhood.  We ended the day with dinner at Juanita's Mexican restaurant and some skip-bo.

The Pool and a Birthday

Our friends the Earharts are visiting from Singapore.  Sarah and Izzy along with Ashley and Braley and Toni, Zoey, and Tatum all came to use our community pool.  It was fun to see all the kids play and catch up.  David enjoyed the pool but all the stimulation wore him out and he took a 30min nap at the pool.

In the evening we headed over to the McAuley's to celebrate Sarah's 30th birthday.  We bought over champagne and a very chocolate cake, it was almost too much chocolate.

Reaching

David has started reaching for toys. I'm excited because it means we interact more rather than just stare at each other a lot.

Sunday Funday

Today David slept for 10hrs and decided that at 6:30am he was wide awake and ready to go. Early church it was for us!  We made it through church and Bible class pretty well. It was nice having Lucas there to help me out. 

After church Lucas made a great lunch then let me go see the new Step Up movie with Kari and Kayte. It was the longest he's been alone with David and they did good together. 

Cheap Pool

We went to big lots today and got a blow up pool for the backyard for $12. It's small but good enough for the 3 of us to sit in and teach David to splash.

Also we reminded ourselves of the awesome cheapness of big lots and dollar tree. Lucas got really excited when he found cards 2 for $1. 

House Warming

Went to our church's kindergarten teacher, Kari, house warming party tonight.  David did really well until he got tired and we had to make a quick exit.  Also tonight was the first time he wore jeans.

4 Months

Happy 4 months David!  I can't believe it's already been 4 months. 

David has gotten really good at holding up his head. You don't have to hold his head up when you hold him now. He's doing baby push-ups during tummy time and rolling both ways, tummy to back and back to tummy.  He loves to laugh and talk and smile. David is going to be one social kid.  He loves to look around and thinks he is going to miss something. He wants people to interact with him all the time.  He is starting to imitiate sounds and faces you make. His favorite is watching people blow raspberries. 

He is in the 65% for both height and weight and the doctor says he is on target for being 6 feet tall!

Can't wait to see what next month brings! 

Carry Me

Since David loves to be held and carried I researched new ways to use my O-Ring sling. This is called the straddle. He also seemed to be a fan of the kangaroo. It's a good break from the Bjorn which hurts my back if I hold him too long.

Peanut believes she is a princess. Specifically the princess from the story princess and the pea.

We finally got a video of David laughing  He thinks that kicking him with his feet is hilarious.

 

Sunday Funday

The weather wasn't terribly hot this afternoon so we went to Forest Oaks park for an afternoon walk. It was a nice park with walking paths, water features, and ponds. Great place for photos as well. 

Also David slept the best he ever has last night! He did 830-630 and then roughly 7-915!  

Saturday Fun

We went over to the Woods for a cookout with Marti and J. It was nice to just hang out and catch up.  It's been awhile since it was just this crew and not a lot of people around.
