Mountain of Clothes

Emily, a sweet church member, offered to let me come over and go through her boys old clothes to see if I wanted anything.  I got a ton!  Everything from 6 months to 3 years!  Basically David has his wardrobe for the next 3 years, unless things are really cute :)  Here is the pile when we were about half way done.

Love My Boys

Took this picture of my boys before Lucas left for Buenos Aries.  I love them :)

Date!

Lucas leaves for Buenos Aries tomorrow so my parents came in to keep me and David company.  They were nice enough to babysit and let us go on a date.  We went to Top Golf where I discovered I am bad at golf.  I can hit the ball but it just doesn't go far.  It was fun to do something other than go to a movie.  After we went to a diner where I had an ok omelet and Lucas had a giant burger.  Then we raced home to put David to bed who refused to go to bed until almost 9.

Playing Babies

David and I went to visit Katie and Anna today.  It's fun seeing the differences in them and watching them play.

Blowing Raspberries

David has discovered he can blow raspberries. He is very excited about it and does it all the time.  He will even wake up doing it.

1st Playgroup Hosts

David and I hosted our first playgroup today.  We had Ashley and Braley, Toni and Zoey and Tatum, and Brenda and Eliza over.  I even made muffins and David put on his bow tie for his ladies.  It was nice to have everyone over and talk.  Although, Ashley and Toni spent most of the morning running after the girls.

Avocado

At David's 4 month checkup the doctor said we could start foods.  He seemed a little young to me yet so we decided to wait until at least 5 months.  We also decided that instead of cereal as the doctor suggested, we would do vegetables as the first food.  There is some belief that children will like vegetables later on if that's what you start with.  Figured it couldn't hurt.

So today, David got his first real food, avocado.  He seemed more interested in playing with it then actually eating it but some of it got in his mouth.

3rd Times the Charm

Today we celebrated my birthday again for the 3rd time with our friends the Barcenas and Zeglins.  Anna Zeglin was born a day before David so it's fun to see their differences when they are together.  Jenny is pregnant with David's newest girlfriend Riley who will be making an appearance in January.

They bought wine, homemade bread, and dessert.  It was all delicious!

Grape Sucking

Just so everyone knows, I had full control of the grape at all times.

Peeing Bather

For having a boy, Lucas and I have been very lucky and have only been peed on a few times by David.  Yesterday, however, Lucas was not so lucky.  He had just placed David in the bath when the stream started.  Not a trickle, a stream.  I jumped back.  Lucas got sprayed and held it back with his hand until it stopped.  David meanwhile was just lounging perfectly happy in his bath sucking his thumb.  It was hilarious.  Lucas did not find it funny and went to shower, leaving me to bathe David by myself.

Good Sleeper

David is such a good baby.  On top of normally being in a good mood, he did amazing last night!  I feed him but he wasn't sleepy so we walked him around for a bit and then put him in the pack n play (where he sleeps) and he put himself to bed!  Didn't cry or make a peep for 11 hours!  That's right, he slept 8-7 straight last night!

Granted I know that this will probably be a fluke or not last very long but I'm enjoying it while it happens :)

Big Boy Stroller

Today we graduated David to his big boy stroller seat.  When we go to Chicago in a few weeks, we want to be able to use it, so we are starting to get him used to it.  So far he is not a big fan.  I think he misses being in his carseat during stroller rides.  He also looks so small!

Surprise get together

Ashley invited us over for dinner tonight.  When we got there we found out it was more of a birthday celebration and she had invited the Coopers and Kayte.  It was so sweet of Ashley to do that and to take care of all the details.  She even made delicious brownies and had ice cream and strawberries to go with it.  The champagne was delicious and it was a great night.

Halloween Craft

Today at playgroup, we made Halloween memory art.  We painted canvas and the kids feet and made an imprint.  I made David's feet into ghosts.  It turned out really cute and is hanging in our house!

Cute photos from today

Great friends

I have great friends.  Toni and Marti know how hard it is to stay at home with a kid all day, so they took me out to celebrate my birthday.  We went to Lupe's.  It was nice to relax, drink a beer, and not have to worry about David since Lucas was babysitting.  They also bought me dinner and gave me wine and bath salts and told me to relax!  I think I will take their advice, but I have to clean the tub first...

Happy Birthday to Me

Today is my 29th birthday, aka the last year in my 20s.

David and I drove down and meet Lucas for lunch at Becks Prime.  My burger, sweet potato fries, and milkshake were delicious!  After David and I went pool float shopping, since Toni told us they were on clearance at Academy.  We got two floats for David for $20.  That evening we went to the pool to try them out.  I think David liked it, he definitely liked trying to eat it.  It was nice not to have to hold him the whole time.

5 Months

Happy 5 months David!

Biggest thing this month? David is learning to sit!  It's exciting to see him starting to get it.  He also trying to crawl.  He will lie there with his feet and legs going but no movement yet.  Its going to happen soon though.

He is laughing a lot more now and smiling all the time.  He definitely knows Lucas and myself and gives us huge smiles.

Gator Babies

We finally got to meet David's new girlfriend Eliza.  The Brennan's came over to watch the Gator stomp all over Eastern Michigan with a final score of 65-0!  Eliza is adorable and has her Dad's hair.  David liked her and tried to hold her hand when they where leaving.

Friday Playdates

Today David and I had 2 play dates.  In the morning we went to the park and meet up with people from our church.  It got hot so we were only there for an hour but it was nice to catch up.

In the afternoon, we went over to Toni's.  I picked up Starbucks for us and she made lunch.  David played in his walker and was fascinated by Zoey and Tatum.  It's nice that I have Toni to talk to about being a stay at home mom and we can support each other.  David was asleep 3 minutes after we left their house.

Cauliflower

We made some mashed cauliflower to go with dinner tonight and gave David a very tiny bit.  He had a look of tasty, weird, different, confused his face.  It seemed that he didn't know what to make of it.  It was pretty funny.

Labor Day and Family

On Friday, Jud arrived and he and Lucas went to an Astros game before picking up Erica.  Saturday (while I was dress shopping with Marti) Lucas, David, Erica, and Jud went to lunch and then Erica and Jud went to Dallas for the FSU football game.  We went furniture shopping before Matt and Logan arrived that evening.  Sunday we put the Logan and David in the kiddy pool and Erica and Jud came back from Dallas.  That evening we did a shrimp and crab boil which turned out delicious and then played Wii after the kids went to bed.  Erica and I were pretty bad and then we discovered that there were directions and then it got much easier.

Monday, Erica and Jud left in the morning.  We went on a walk in the afternoon and saw an armadillo!  That evening Greg, Anne, and their new puppy Sybil came for dinner.  Sybil and Peanut wore each other.
