October 19-21, we went to Florida. We drove out on Friday afternoon and arrived early Saturday morning. Lucas was very sweet and did most of the driving so I could sleep.
Saturday I had lunch with Nikki. It was so nice to talk to her in person and tell her everything that has been going on. She also helped calm my preggo fears. Afterwards, I met Lucas at Heather's house. Her "puppies" are huge and very energetic. I was very impressed by her gardening skills and seeing the vegetables grow. Blake has a lot of energy and wore Lucas and Peanut out.
We drove over to Penney Farms to have dinner with my grandparents. It was nice to see them and catch up. I learned a lot about Grammy's past. After dinner, we went back to their place, where they gave us some rugs as a house warming gift, and a nice picture for the baby's room. Their dog Bo is sweet and protective and thankfully much less energetic then I would have thought for a 1 year old.
Leaving their place we went to Erica and Jud's, which was only about 30 mins away. Their son Walker is adorable and I love him already.
Sunday was the baptism. Lucas and I feel honored to have been chosen as Godparents, we only wish we lived closer so we could see him more. I guess that is what Skype is for! The baptism went well and Walker slept through the whole thing. After pictures, we went back to the house. It was nice to be with family and just relax.
Monday everyone, including the dogs, went to a park to take a walk. It was a nice day to be outside. We had a late lunch and played some games before getting on the road by 7pm. We stopped at a rest stop in Mississippi so Lucas could sleep. We got home at 11am on Tuesday morning. Spent the rest of the day recovering and doing stuff around the house.
