Pregnancy so far isn't what I thought it would be like. You always hear about people throwing up every day, being tired, and eating everything. So far, that hasn't been my experience.
I've been nauseous a lot but haven't had to act on it. And it's not in the mornings for me. It's around 11am, 2pm, and sometimes around dinner time. Thank God for ginger ale, the only thing that helps. It's very annoying and having pugs crawling on me does not help.
I'm not tired, I'm exhausted all day every day. All I want to do is sleep or lie down on the couch and not move. I've gone to bed at 8pm and woken up at 7am and still I'm tired. It's a lot of effort to work and not sleep on the job.
Food, not really feeling it. I can recall one time in the past two months that I've been hungry. I skip lunch a lot because I'm not hungry. I know I'm supposed to be feeding the baby and what not but why eat if I'm not hungry? I've been told that the hunger comes later in the 2nd trimester, which I'm almost to!
Another annoying side effect is pregnancy brain. I'm told this is different for everyone. For me it's forgetfulness and not being able to focus on things. I forgot to start the dishwasher two days in a row and each time would come home to unload it. Tasks at work, I need to double check to make sure pictures are uploaded correctly and names are typed right. The focus really hurts during conversations. I will just blank for minutes at a type thinking about nothing and then come back and realize people are still talking. I'm normally a very good listener so this is hard for me.
Moral of the post, is that everyone's experiences are different so don't expect to be the norm!
